Modi rushes to Ahmedabad as their ailing mother is taken to hospital

The 99-year-old Hiraben was admitted to an Ahmedabad hospital the previous morning due to her poor condition, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid her a visit on Wednesday. According to hospital staff, she was in stable condition.

Following the news of his mother’s failing health at her Gandhinagar home, the prime minister hurried to Ahmedabad. Around 3.30 p.m., Modi arrived at UN Mehta Hospital, where he spent the next hour and a half. Later, he departed for New Delhi.

Ahmedabad Police announced the city would be a “No Drone Zone” from 2 pm until midnight due to security concerns in advance of the PM’s arrival.

“Due to her declining health, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother was admitted to the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center. But as of right now, her health is stable, according to a statement from the hospital’s official spokesperson. Modi also spoke with the hospital’s medical staff.

Jugalji Thakor, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), predicted that Hiraben will be released in a day or two.

As word of the PM’s mother’s condition spread, a number of political leaders visited the hospital. Along with health minister Hrishikesh Patel, Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel arrived at the hospital following a cabinet meeting.

Other leaders prayed for a quick recovery for Hiraben.

Rahul Gandhi, a prominent member of the Congress, wrote on Twitter: “The love between Mother and Son is eternal and invaluable. In these trying times, Modiji, know that you have my love and support. I wish your mother a quick recovery.

Priyanka Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, also sent her best wishes. “We learned that the PM’s mother wasn’t feeling well. We are all with him right now. I beseech God to grant her health,” she tweeted.

Pankaj Modi, the younger brother of Prime Minister Modi, and Hiraben, also known as Hiraba, both reside in Raysan hamlet outside of Gandhinagar. The PM spends time with Raysan’s mother and pays frequent visits to Raysan.
